A propos de moi
On Tuesday, April 7th, citizens of the Grinnell-Newburg Community School District voted on a bond issue to determine the future facilities plans for the district. On the morning of the day of pay essay writing the vote, we discussed our interest in the vote to Mrs. Richards, a Grinnell High School science teacher. We reminisced in our memories of elementary presidential elections, where elementary students held a mock vote. With these memories in mind, Mrs. Richards gave us the idea of holding a mock vote with the student body. With that brilliant idea in mind, we raced to get Principal Seney’s approval.
With Principal Seney’s cautious approval, we set up a simple survey and sent it to the entire high school student body. This survey was anonymous, limited to one vote per person, and had one prompt, copy and pasted from a sample ballot. It read, “Shall the Board of Directors of the Grinnell-Newburg Community School District in the Counties of Jasper and Poweshiek, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to https://payforessay.pro/papers-for-money/ exceed $28,000,000 to provide funds to construct, build, furnish, and equip a Grades 6-8 Middle School Building; to construct, build, furnish and equip a Grades Pre-K-5 Elementary School Building; and to improve the sites?”. This prompt only had two answers, “Yes” and “No”. We counted results starting from when we sent the survey out at 8:26 am until 8:00 pm that same day. Soon after sending the survey out, votes starting pouring in.
In total, we received 180 responses to our survey. We did not know how many people would respond when we sent the survey out, and we were very pleased with the number of voters. About 33% of the student body voted, which is very similar to the approximately 35% of eligible voters that turned out for the actual vote. Since we us history homework help received an enormous amount of data, we had to analyze it to do it justice. What is Grinnell High School’s verdict on the bond issue? How do the school’s results compare to the actual election? Both of these questions will be answered.
